You know how we feel about a bit of mono, another of our failsafe looks that seems to take us anywhere. A look we wear time and time again and never get bored of (as we're sure you've guessed by the amount of posts dedicated to it!)
When it comes to styling, unsurprisingly our unwritten rule is black at the bottom in skinnies or culottes and white up top with an off the shoulder top / shirt / tee combo. That was until we found these new wide legs from CANVAS by Lands' End - probably the most flattering of silhouettes we've tried. We're both wearing slightly different pairs; Philippa's are a bit more tailored with the pleated front and Sarah's have a slouchier vibe with a tie waist BUT both have changed our minds on the white trouser rule.
The white trouser rule for us goes a little something like this...white jeans are acceptable (not super skin tight though!) but white trews can be a scary territory. With that in mind we always suggest opting for a wide leg shape as these are without doubt the most flattering. But, getting the fit right, not too tight, not too short, not too golfy looking - it's a real struggle! So we were thrilled when we found these twinning pairs from CANVAS by Lands' End, they answered all our white trouser prayers!
Just take note, our key tip in making sure you don't throwback to Liz Hurley circa 99 is to pair back your white trews to keep your look modern and minimal. We've teamed ours with some of our all black basics, statement shoes and of course some nude undies!

Scroll below to see how to make your white trousers super wearable this summer...
